Or he will drink the water [infusion] of the iztac cuahuitl wood that grows in Coatitlan. Or he will drink the water [infusion] made from the powder of the [crushed] tail of a certain vermin called tlacuatzin: a little bit of the male’s tail and a little bit of the female’s tail, all mixed together. Or he will drink the water [infusion] of the root called iztacaxixpahtli, and this [should be added] to wine.
\nThe illness of hemorrhoids is cured with the water [infusion] of the herb called tletlemaitl, by drinking it and taking some baths [in it]. Or one should also administer a medicine made from the same herb. And it is understood that this [should be done] when the hemorrhoids are internal; but if they were external, it would be necessary to grind this herb and put the powder on them.

\nçayolquauitl,1 and of a tree named tlaquacuitlapilli,2 all ground together; one is to drink it in water, or in chocolate, or in maguey wine. But at the very first one is to be given an enema with a [powdered herb] named cacamotic poxauac.3 And also this medicine cacamotic, is for loss of semen. Then one drinks the medicine mentioned, or one is to drink [water in which is soaked] the pith of the iztac quauitl [tree], which grows in Coatitlan. Or one is to drink [liquid with powdered] opossum4 tail—a little of the tail of the female, a little of the male. It is to be drunk in maguey wine. Or one is to go on to drink the root of the iztac axixpatli5 shrub in wine.
\nTheir remedy is to drink [an infusion of] tletlemaitl; a hot bath is to be taken in it. And if the hemorrhoids are in the rectum, [an infusion of] tletlemaitl is cast in the rectum; but if they appear only on the surface, they are covered with the pulverized [herb].
