\n[to obtain] wood for [the god] Xiuhtecutli. He made public announcement that there be going to get [it] in the forest. And those who gathered it were only the youths whose function it was. And when they had gone to gather wood for Xiuhtecutli, they piled it up at the calmecac in Tzonmolco.
\nThe function of the Tlaçolquacuilli was that he kept watch there, he took care there in [the Temple of] Mecatlan. And he put on his sleeveless jacket; he had his gourd for tobacco. Great was the veneration in the temple there at Mecatlan. No one urinated there; but if anyone did urinate there, they then seized him, they took him within;1 there they punished him, they bled him.
\nThe Keeper of the God at Tecpantzinco kept guard, took care at [the Temple of] Tecpantzinco, and it was his function that he issued directions about the offerings. He made public announcement that offerings be made at [the Temple of] Tecpantzinco.
